Welcome to the World Water Monitoring Day Database!

Plan to join us on October 18 for World Water Monitoring Day
  • On-line registration and test kit purchases begin annually on July 18.
  • The monitoring period occurs annually from September 18-October 18.
  • Monitoring results may be entered from September 18-December 18.
General Instructions For Registering Site(s) And Entering Monitoring Data:
  1. To register as a participant, click on the link to Register as a Participant and complete your personal contact information. Everyone is asked to enter personal contact information. This will help us to identify the responsible person for your monitoring activity. If you represent a larger organization, you will also be asked to provide basic information about your organization on a second screen if it has not been previously registered.
  2. To register your site(s), you may click on the appropriate link at the bottom of the participant registration page, or you may return at a later time to register your site by clicking on the Register a Site link in the blue navigation bar.
    You may register a single site or several sites using the same contact information. If you participated in a prior year and are using the same e-mail address for this year, your previous site information will appear for selection again this year.
    If you are unsure about your latitude and longitude coordinates, please click on the GLOBE ICON to use the Microsoft Map Point tool to locate your monitoring site. Coordinates for your site will automatically be entered.
  3. Click on the link to Enter Data to record your monitoring results after testing is completed. If you collected benthic data (macroinvertebrate or "bug" counts), you may enter that data, as well as chemical/physical data.
  4. To exit the World Water Monitoring Day Registration Database, please click on World Water Monitoring Day Home
  5. To view your information, click on "Site Registration" after returning to the WWMD website and go to "My Monitoring Site Information."
