Helpful Search Hints

The general search will search every field in the database.
The detailed search option will allow you to search specific fields with in the database.

The search is a one word or phrase search.

  • If you search for "wetlands" it will not return "wetland", but it will return "wetlands"
  • If you search for "wetland" it will return "wetlands" and "wetland"
  • If you search for "land" it will return "wetlands", "wetland", "baylands" and "bottomland" and any other document with "land" in the reference

How do I improve my results?

There are a few ways you can improve your results:
  1. Double check your spelling.
  2. Subtract words from your query if the results are too narrow.
  3. Add words to your query use the detailed search if the results if the results are too broad.
  4. Try browsing the bibliography.xls spreadsheet.
