The San Pablo Bay Watershed Restoration Program (SPBWRP) provides technical and financial assistance to individuals, organizations and government agencies who Cullinan Ranch undertake ecological restoration projects within the San Pablo Bay watershed. The purpose of the SPBWRP is to promote revitalization of the watershed's wetlands, rivers, lakes and streams, and to improve the health of San Pablo Bay itself. The SPBWRP was established in response to the growing awareness that the ecological integrity of the watershed is essential to the long-term health of both human and wildlife communities.

Take a look at the Restoration Projects section to get an idea of the kinds of efforts that are planned, or are already underway. Cullinan RanchRestoration of the San Pablo Bay watershed is an ongoing enterprise, and this web site will be updated regularly to reflect advances in restoration efforts.

The San Pablo Bay Watershed Restoration Program is a collaborative effort of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Coastal Conservancy, and The Bay Institute.

 

History of the Program

The San Pablo Bay Watershed Restoration Program was developed by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Coastal Conservancy, and The Bay Institute over a period of about two years. A Preliminary Study Plan was prepared by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, as required by law. Subsequently, research was conducted and a numbers of public and technical advisory meetings were convened to help shape the program. This section contains the records of those meetings, and other information related to the development of the program.
